Penang Trip Day 3: We Hit the City!

We still have two more days left before we depart from Penang. It went by so fast! I felt like I had just arrived in Penang 10 minutes ago.

Instead of staying at home, we went outside in the streets. For breakfast, we ate at a place called Breakfast By The Barn. We ate a delicious breakfast alfresco. (Outdoors)

After that, we visited a temple. We saw a fortune-telling wheel and decides to see our fortunes. I didn’t want to see mine because I prefer to figure my future out myself.

My mom, sister, and brother all gave a try. They all got pretty good fortunes! My brother got a funny one. “Your wife will give birth to a boy.”

“Any sickness in your family will recover. Your luck for other things is good.” That’s great! My brother was sick last week. He took two Covid tests, one positive, one negative. He got better in a day though. Maybe he got Covid for one day.

Then we ate dinner at a seafood restaurant called Paper Lobster. In these restaurants, they pour your food on the table, and you eat them without using utensils. They put a piece of plastic on the table so it won’t get messy afterwards. They also give you non-toxic gloves to wear when you eat. The food usually comes with gravy. It was pretty good!

Penang Trip Day 2: We Dive Headfirst into the Pool

Many more things happened this day! I have more to write about.

After lunch, we went to my cousin’s family’s apartment. We swam in the large swimming pool, under the hot sun. It felt great! I practiced some of my strokes and played with my siblings and my cousin.

There was even a jacuzzi nearby! We went to try it. Obviously it was smaller than the swimming pool.

We still had time after swimming, so we went to visit the games room! Near the back entrance, there are two billiard tables next to each other. The billiard balls and cue sticks are placed against a wall nearby.

Then, there are two air hockey tables. You can turn them on by pressing on a switch below either tables. The billiard stations and air hockey stations are separated by a short wall.

Northwest to the front entrance is the ping pong table. There are two very large words ‘PING’ and ‘PONG’ on the wall next to it.

“Hey, I wonder what this table is for.”

“It’s a ping pong table. See, it says it on that wall.”

“Oh. Didn’t see that.”

(Sorry.)

ANYWAY, at the back right, there’s a foosball table, and a dart target. You can’t see it from the front. At the left, there’s cabinets that house the air hockey sticks and the discs, ping pong bats and the ping pong ball, the miniature football, and some darts.

There are also couches and tables for people who want to relax.

We played all the games there. It was very fun! We had to go home about half an hour later for dinner.

Penang Trip Day 1: We Crash at Penang

My family and I went to Penang!

We woke up very early in the morning and left. It took about 5 hours from home, so my siblings and I just slept in the car.

We wanted to eat dim sum (dumplings), but the place was very crowded, some were even standing in the middle of the road! Was the food that good? (Not really. The ‘custard’ bun had kaya jam in it. )

Anyway, we reached at around noon, and rested at my cousin’s house. His house has 3 floors, but no backyard. The 1st floor is usually where everything is, and the 2nd floor is where our bedrooms are. I’m not too sure what’s on the 3rd floor because we aren’t allowed to go up there. That’s probably where his parents’ room is.
