At this point in the Bass Fuzz, the only thing that’s holding me back are my subpar soldering skills. One bad solder joint is all it takes.
Even if it works, I can’t move the box by an inch or two before it fails again — the connectivity’s just that bad. If I start selling pedals this year, I’m probably going to get those circuit-printing thingamajigs in bulk.

You’re probably wondering, Daphne, you’ve spent seven months on this aluminium box. When’s it going to work?
My answer: I dunno. This whole journey, though? It’s to experience what it’s like to build something from the ground up. Sure, DIY pedal kits exist, but I think that’s cheating. It’s like baking from scratch vs. baking from a cake mix. You feel more accomplished with the former.
Plus, you get all sorts of cool scars and calluses as Proof-of-Work. I cut myself snipping wires in a funny way.
